Properties, Facilities and Development (PF&D)

Properties, Facilities & Development (PF&D) play a vital role in ensuring Curtin’s physical presence enables ongoing transformation, and supports the University’s vision to be a recognised global leader in research, education and engagement. The team is responsible for the planning and management that provides a vibrant and beneficial environment for study, work and leisure.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and agile Communications and Engagement Coordinator to join our team and create and build awareness, understanding and advocacy for PF&D’s core mission.

Your role will be challenging and varied, and you will be responsible for managing, coordinating and delivering a broad range of internal and external communications material and engagement activities.

In this role you will….

Raise the profile of the team, and promote our services and facilities.
Plan, develop and implement communications strategies for key priorities, projects and activities.
Research, write and edit high quality communications/promotional material for different audiences across a range of channels, including print and digital.
Innovatively use a range of digital communication tools and media, including visual, to convey relevant messages and information internally and externally.
Evaluate, report, and continuously improve upon the efficiency of our communication strategies and engagement with relevant audiences.
Prepare materials for media agencies (e.g. scripts and question and answer documents) and collaborate closely with the University’s Public Relations team to facilitate responses to media enquiries.
Plan and manage events and functions which support and promote our initiatives.

We are looking for someone with…

A ‘can do’ attitude, can take the initiative and work collaboratively with our team and partners.
A relevant degree in communications, public relations, marketing or related subject area and relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
Proficiency in planning, implementing and evaluating communication and engagement strategies.
Considerable experience in managing digital communications channels and web content.
Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate sensitively and constructively and to develop relationships across all levels of an organisation.
Exceptional writing skills with the ability to package content for different channels and translate complex material into accessible content.
Strong organisational skills and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines.
Proven ability to work independently and optimally as part of a team.
