About the Opportunity Casual unit of study coordinator with expertise in the area of consumer analytics and relationship management. Contract for a semester period. The Discipline is seeking an experienced UoS coordinator to join our teaching team responsible for delivering teaching in a unit of study at a postgraduate Commerce program. As a casual academic in the Discipline of Marketing, you will have the opportunity to pursue your passion for higher education. Our teaching team consists of experienced academics and our students come from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds. We offer the opportunity to be part of a team of leaders in the field and flexible working hours. Hours will vary according to timetable and number of students. The key accountabilities and responsibilities of this role will be: * Undertake teaching in the area of customer analytics and relationship management at postgraduate level * Develop expertise in teaching in collaboration with other academic staff within the Discipline * Engage constructively with student feedback and other evaluations of teaching practice * Continue the development of the unit of study * Coordinate and mange tutors and marking workload within the unit of study * Contribute to the broader life of the Discipline through engagement with various activities B. About you The Discipline seeks to recruit a talented individual who is committed to making a positive difference to students learning experience and build their preparedness for career success. In order to meet TEQSA requirement, applicants must possess qualifications one level higher than the level they are ing for, or demonstrate equivalent professional experience. We seek a candidate who can demonstrate the following skills and qualifications: Essential criteria (Postgraduate Commerce): * Higher degree in Marketing or related field * Strong analytical skills required for customer analytics * Statistical tests (SPSS, SAS or R) and data visualizations (Tableau) * Machine learning (Python or R), data mining and natural language processing (NLP packages in Python or R) * Use of commercial data science software (e.g., Alteryx or RapidMiner) * Strong understanding of customer analytics and relationship management in Marketing * Considerable experience and skills in teaching and assessment practices relevant to Marketing/Business students * Capacity to coordinate a Unit of Study and work responsibly and effectively * Evidence of working effectively and respectfully with international students * Evidence of ability to address the learning needs of PG students * Evidence of good teaching evaluations Desirable criteria: * Familiarity with blended learning practices, including on-line content delivery and flipped classroom methods * A high level of inter-cultural competence Intending applicants are welcome to seek further information about the position from Stacey Baxter, Associate Professor and Deputy Head of Discipline stacey.baxter@sydney.edu.au Note: Applicants must have existing Australian work rights, as sponsorship is not available for this position.
