William Buck's Tax team is recognised as one of the leading mid-market teams in Australia and we are looking to deepen our expertise with a Technical Tax Specialist.

We have a growing team of high preforming and highly skilled individuals from both accounting and legal backgrounds.

We are now looking for a passionate and ambitious individual who is eager to deep dive into our client's complex tax issues and develop their career as our “tax expert for tax experts”. No small task, but an amazing opportunity for the right person.

This is a new and highly valued role within William Buck and is a fantastic opportunity for you to make a real impact!

A key focus of the role is to provide technical tax support to the specialist tax team. You would also work directly with clients on complex tax issues, draft or review technical advice, as well as preparing briefs and delivering training on new tax developments.

Our Tax team places considerable importance on having strong tax technical skills, and as we grow and become more diverse, having team member's whose primary focus is on tax technical issues will help ensure our Tax team continues to build its reputation as a leading mid-market tax specialist team deliver robust, commercial focused advice, and being able to solve tax issues that are in the “too hard basket” for many advisors.

We focus on developing highly skilled consultants through extensive technical training and hands-on learning via exposure to unique and complex client situations. The team prides itself on being supportive and encourages each individual's professional development.

Experience and skills:

Applicants will ideally be qualified as a Chartered Accountant and have a minimum of 5 years Australian experience, or be admitted as a Solicitor with at least 4 years PAE.

More experienced candidates would be welcomed.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical to your success in this role.
