What will you create ?

A career within our Reputation Team, with a political engagement focus, will provide you with the opportunity to support the firm’s purpose to build trust in society and solve important problems.

Working directly to the Head of Reputation, you’ll take a lead role in developing relationships with key political stakeholders. You will also play an integral role in supporting the Executive Leadership team in developing and executing responses to critical public policy matters

  • Leading and supporting the development and implementation of our firm’s stakeholder engagement strategy, particularly focussed on NSW Government and the Federal Government.
  • Contributing to the implementation of our Political and Regulatory Plan which considers current and future political and regulatory trends
  • Working with leaders across the firm to shape our views/position on political and regulatory issues currently being debated.
  • Keeping abreast of political and regulatory developments that are of relevance to our firm, our clients and our staff.
  • Preparing summarising/briefs on significant developments quickly for sharing internally (e.g. proposed regulation/legislation, new reports, inquiries etc). You will also use your writing skills to draft internal and external communication pieces on political and regulatory topics of relevance to partners, staff and clients.
  • Leading or contributing PwC submissions on relevant consultation documents issued by regulators, industry bodies, Government committees etc.
  • Building relationships with members of PwC’s global public policy team, with an emphasis on sharing knowledge and insight from our local market and understanding how global developments may impact Australia.


About you 

You will have 5-8+ years plus experience in political affairs and a sound understanding of how public policy is designed and implemented at a federal and/or state/territory level. You would likely come from a political office, or hold a similar role in a large reputable corporate environment. Experience with NSW government is preferable.

You are skilled in advising on, and dealing with, the practical application of public policy matters and how the political environment can influence policy outcomes. You are passionate about public policy, and appreciative of diverse views that exist across society.
