Journey Beyond Rail Expeditions, owned and operated by Journey Beyond, operates Australia’s iconic rail journeys, The Ghan, Indian Pacific, Great Southern and The Overland. There are very few global journeys considered national treasures, but our trains are, without question, iconic Australian experiences. From the moment our guests (and potentially you!) step aboard these legendary trains, you can feel it – a spirit of adventure and a sense of something very special about to unfold. This marketing role, part of our Corporate Marketing function, is the marketing account manager for the Journey Beyond Rail Expeditions business.

The Opportunity

This role will lead the marketing performance of the Journey Beyond Rail Expeditions business, focused on, overseeing all brand and campaign executions, driving new customer acquisition initiatives, and delivering commercial results contributing to the business performance. You will be responsible for the development and management of marketing plans developed from the strategic brand plan in conjunction with Executive General Manager Rail and General Manager Marketing.

Success Outcomes

As a marketing professional success will be based on the positioning plus identification of target audiences and developing marketing plans with campaign activity to match for all out train product lines. This will include annual marketing plans, campaign initiatives, management of mix strategies budget management and reporting with analysis.

About you

You know how to deliver results through powerful marketing campaigns, and you’ve got the stories to prove it. You love taking a guest through a high involved guest journey in purchasing experiential travel; you are keen on destination drivers and you can translate data and trends into strategies and compelling messaging for any audience. You know what makes people behave the way they do when interacting with brands and evolve these into motive purchase decisions.

You are a passionate marketer with 3+ years’ experience and you are a gun in the digital marketing space, with proven ability to attract and grow an online audience.
