The Data & Decision Science (DDS) team is responsible for leading the delivery of world-class data, analytics and technology capabilities to improve the financial well-being of our customers and communities.

The Direct Channels Data and Reporting team provides works across the three Direct Channels’ teams of Direct Lending, Direct Banking and Financial Assistance Solutions. Key functions of the team are Productivity, Data & Reporting, Workforce Planning, support of Business Systems and the delivery of major Projects and Strategy.

The Direct Channels Data and Reporting Solutions team is accountable for best in class operational management information reporting across each of the 3 businesses – Direct Banking, Direct Lending and DC Analytics and Strategy. Key functions of the team are Productivity, Data & Reporting, Workforce Planning, support of Business Systems and the delivery of major Projects and Strategy.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Project Involvement

  • Work as an active member of cross-functional teams to ensure reporting aspects of projects/systems changes are considered, issues resolved including the performance of user acceptance testing and business verification testing.
  • Respond to ad-hoc reporting requests.
  • Support colleagues and maintain awareness of wider analytics requirements across the Direct Channels team.
Analysis & Reporting
  • Design and Development operational and analytic Tableau Dashboard to support business’s decision making against performance, KPI and customer experience measurements.
  • Understand and be able to explain clearly how data is created, its relevance and significance as well as an assessment of data to produce findings/recommendations
  • Conduct thorough data analysis and validation to identify issues, risks and improvement opportunities.
  • Assist with delivering insightful findings underpinned by statistical analysis / modelling, explaining the why behind the what. Constructing insights to help drive better business outcome.
  • Preparation of presentations and business analysis reports to internal customers.
  • Gather and collate information as required to complete BAU reporting.
Data Governance, Risk & Compliance
  • Follow the data governance principles and practices to ensure the correct use of data.
  • Delivery key artefacts as per the delivery framework, i.e. Reporting requirements, solution design document, and data specification documentation, etc.
  • Adhere to data risk guidelines, policies & procedures, and ensure the development of the right controls in place on the e2e processes.
We are interested in hearing from you…
  • A solid technical hands-on experience in SQL and SAS to perform data analysis and transformations.
  • Proficient at using data visualisation tools (e.g. in Tableau, Power BI).
  • Demonstrated experience to form strong partnership with stakeholders and influence in the business decisions.
  • Comfortable in driving problem solving sessions with stakeholders in a structured manner.
  • Demonstrated project end-to-end experience including scoping work, planning, conducting analysis and making recommendations, analytics support and/or developing presentations.
  • Sound written and verbal communication, business partnering, teamwork and collaboration skills, and time management with multi-task skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior exposure to data management frameworks and experience with metadata and data modelling.
  • Tertiary qualification or industry experience (computer science, statistics, mathematics or related disciplines)
  • Knowledge of Financial Services industry and/or Operational Risk
  • Knowledge of Contact Centre reporting or technology is highly desirable.
  • You are analytical, strategic, and a forward thinking creative-problem solver, highly capable of working proactively within a team, leading by example, managing multiple projects simultaneously while navigating through ambiguity.
  • You are passionate about customers and the opportunity to build trust and customer advocacy through data driven insights.
  • You are enthusiastic, self-motivated and focused on continuous improvement.
  • You share knowledge with other analysts across the team to cross-pollinate and lift the skillset across the team.
