About the role:
In this brand-new position created due to an exciting period of growth within the Strategy and Cyber Security team, the Analyst - Cyber Security will take a lead role in cyber security incident management and will coordinate the identification, management, recording and analysing of security threats or incidents in real-time. Providing guidance on remediation and managing security threats and vulnerabilities using risk management processes, you will support the Manger - Cyber Security in the effective administration of IT security policy, procedures and measures to ensure preventive and recovery strategies are in place. Proactive and positive with a forward-thinking working style, you will work to minimise the risk of unauthorised access by internal and external security threats to manage operational cyber security risks.

What the role will offer:
Take a lead role in the day-to-day analysis of security events that occur within our environment, being the primary point of contact for the Security Operations Centre provider.
Co-ordinate incident response activities across all resolver groups and recommend remediation actions as required.
Operate and configure security information and event management tool (Splunk).
Identify and analyse security threats and risks and provide direction for implementing security risk mitigation activities.
Champion cyber security awareness within the business.
Undertake root-cause analysis to ensure prevention of problem re-occurrence.
Present ideas and solutions that complement business requirements.
Assist in the operational performance of the cyber security function via associated reporting activities.

Key skills and experience:
Tertiary qualifications in an IT related discipline and/or significant IT experience.
Knowledge of security technologies and principles and an understanding of NIST Cyber Security Framework and associated standards and controls.
Demonstrated skills in security tools, SIEM’s, log analysis, incident management combined with broad technical knowledge of IT Infrastructure areas of responsibility
A highly adaptable and excellent organisational, problem solving, and prioritisation ability with proven ability to analyse risk and develop mitigation strategies
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence outcomes with demonstrated trusted executive stakeholder management
Current or progression towards GIAC certification would be desirable.
