The Role 
In this casual role, based in Camberwell, you will be responsible for supporting the nursing team to deliver exceptional care to patients in our rehabilitation and/or mental health units.

You will make an impact by:

  • Assisting with general patient care and daily living activities including showering, dressing, moving, hygiene, feeding and companionship 
  • Assisting with cleaning, tidying and restocking supplies
  • Providing safe patient transport and the transportation of items

A strong and clear communicator, you have excellent customer service skills, a friendly and positive attitude and thrive on providing a helpful and compassionate service to patients, visitors and fellow team members. You are self-directed, take pride in your work and are committed to safety.

You will have

  • Completion of Certificate 3 Health Services Assistance (Acute Care) or completed nursing studies (RN or EN) of minimum 12-month duration
  • Recent experience in a similar role in a health care setting 
  • Basic computer skills
  • Knowledge of principles of manual handling and patient transport
  • Knowledge of basic cleanliness, food handling and hygiene standards
  • Knowledge of Infection Control standards
  • Available to work 4 hour shifts in the morning but may also be required for other shift times depending upon the needs of the unit
