About The Team

The Freight Branch is part of Customer Strategy and Technology Division and lead and coordinate the safe, productive and sustainable movement of goods in and through NSW.

The Strategy Operations Function will lead network management for Freight Branch, including responsibilities for approving access for freight operators on the road and rail network; improving the safety, productivity and sustainability of freight movement through network and fleet innovations; and monitoring the efficiency of the movement of freight in NSW.is responsible for leading the development of TfNSW integrated, multi-modal freight strategies.

The Opportunity

A role now exists for a Senior Manager, System Performance and Analytics to lead the monitoring of network performance for Operations, with a particular focus on the efficiency of the container task at Port Botany through administration of the Port Botany Landside Improvement Scheme.

Responsibilities include

  • Lead a team that administers the Port Botany Landside Improvement Scheme (PBLIS)
  • Understand and analyse the efficiency of the broader transport freight network
  • Analysis and trend identification of freight data obtained from various agencies within TfNSW and a range of other bodies.
  • Gaining an understanding of how the network is currently being used and actively seeking opportunities for improvements
  • Effectively communicating findings to senior stakeholders with commentary on solutions to analyses findings

About You

You have a strong technical expertise in shipping container supply chain including interactions with stevedores, container movements and shipping lines and a full understanding of the Port Botany Landside Improvement Scheme. This includes experience with container processes and port systems.

You will have an analytical and inquisitive mindset with the ability to come up with creative solutions.

You will have experience in dealing with difficult scenarios in often a politically charged environment, with the ability to maintain professionalism in such scenarios.

As this is a Senior Service position, you must have demonstrable leadership experience and / or qualities.

Related tertiary education is preferred but not essential.
