As part of Mimecast’s Global Go-To-Market Operations team, the Sales Operations Specialist will play an integral role in enabling Sales Directors, Sales Managers and Account Managers by providing data driven business insights and operational support. Said simply, this role will align the Sales Operation Specialist with one of our Go-To-Market teams as the key sales operations resource for their assigned segment of the business.

To fulfill this role, you must be an efficient, accurate and multitasking individual across a range of time sensitive activities. As one of the newer and growing teams at Mimecast, the successful candidate needs to be someone who can hit the ground running, impress from the start, and show ambition to grow both individually and as part of a successful team.

This individual will have a strong background in Salesforce.com and experience with Tableau (or other CRM tool) from an individual contributor perspective (i.e., Sales role, Sales or Marketing Operations role) and be comfortable recommending system improvements and enhancements to the CRM Team. In parallel, this individual must have the talent and desire to coach, train and mentor Sales Managers and Sales Rep’s into the effective adoption and utilization of our business systems. Key to the role will be the ability to coach “self-help” as opposed to becoming a crutch for the sales force.

Responsibilities

The GTM - Sales Operations team is the key interface between the Business Systems Team, Sales, Finance, Channel, Marketing and Support, so this individual needs to understand the impact of systems changes on sales and the rest of the organization as they endeavor to keep processes simple for the sales force. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Work closely with regional sales management to ensure our business systems are being adopted across the sales teams and are being utilized effectively within your specified region(s).
  • Work closely with regional sales operations teams to support day to day sales and business operations, (i.e. help with CRM usage, opportunity and forecast functionality, quoting, reporting, etc.).
  • Acting as a business partner for the Sales Leaders providing both canned and ad-hoc reporting to suit the needs of their business and performing other functions that enables the sales team to remain productive selling.
  • Manage and forecast Enterprise pipeline, collaborating with senior sales reps to identify and communicate deal risks
  • Develop & support reporting that provides insights into business performance against targets & commissions.
  • Be the CRM ( com) “go-to person” for the GTM Team helping to coach in a spirit of self-help.
  • Work collaboratively with local and global Sales Operations and GTM peers in the to maintain consistency across global sales processes and tools and be a regional conduit to recommend improvements to business processes, systems and tools back to our Global Business and CRM Teams.
  • Proactively monitor and strive to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, data hygiene and process consistency in the sales organization’s use of business systems,
  • Facilitate an organization of continuous process improvement.
  • Collaborate with Finance, and Human Resources managing sales incentive compensation and administration.
Clarifies the application of sales compensation program policies and procedures.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in a Sales Operations and/or Business Systems role, providing hands-on recommendations for process and systems improvement, while assuming the role of sales systems coach and confidant.
  • Experience being a key stakeholder in a Salesforce.com (or CRM tool) implementation, or experience implementing a major add on to Salesforce.com (or CRM tool), such as CPQ, Business Intelligence, Marketing-Lead Automation, etc.
  • com Certification is preferred but not essential.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • High level of written and verbal communications.
  • Equally at ease in cross-functional meetings as the GTM advocate and advisor as he/she is at walking the sales floor providing hand-on coaching and mentoring in using the systems.
  • A highly accomplished communicator, both in senior management settings as well one-on-one’s with Sales Managers and Rep’s.
  • Ability to articulate process changes and improvements up and down the organization.
  • At ease in leveraging virtual resources and teaming to drive projects to on time completion.
  • Collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
