JOB DESCRIPTION

The City of Logan's ambition is to become an innovative dynamic city of the future.

Recognised nationally as a 'cultural powerhouse'. A city of creativity, collaboration, and leadership. An exemplar of sustainability and liveability. A city renowned for excellence in design, technology, entrepreneurship and community vibrancy.

Our residents come from all walks of life and so do we.

We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our organisation stronger.

The Perks

  • Full or part time role (or 9 day fortnight) with a flexible and supportive environment
  • $83k to $86k + super
  • Salary Packaging options
  • On-site coffee shop
  • Free on-site parking

The Opportunity

Instead of telling you what an Injury Management Advisor does all day, we'll tell you why you should come and be one with us.
We're a team of specialists (2 advisors, a team leader and a Program leader) who form part of Council's People and Culture Branch. A close-knit bunch, the work we do not only benefits our internal customers but also more broadly our community.

You'll take ownership of a manageable portfolio of injury management cases, both psychological and physical. Receiving the autonomy to shape the role in your own direction, you'll work with a huge range of stakeholders across our 26 branches and in our multicultural community.
We take our values seriously - the care we show each other, and the pride we take in our work will develop you both personally and professionally.

Take a look at the position description at the top of the page HERE or if you'd like some more information about the role, pop our hiring manager, Danielle Forbes (Work Health and Injury Management Coordinator) an email on danielleforbes@logan.qld.gov.au

About you

Sure, we're looking for an experienced and competent Advisor, but you'll also have excellent interpersonal skills and be a confident communicator who's able to skilfully manage conflicting priorities. We operate best as collaborative and service-oriented professionals who play a part in creating a dynamic and rewarding community focussed environment.

However, more important than experience, we're looking for someone with the following characteristics:

  • You're known for your ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion, sound judgement and tact in dealing with sensitive issues
  • You can quickly build trust-based relationships with key stakeholders. People come to you for advice, they trust your advice and they value your expertise
  • Empathetic and resilient in equal measure; you're able to tailor your communication style and message to both an outdoor worker or our CEO

To express your interest in this role, please forward your Resume and a Cover Letter outlining your relevant skills and experience in support of your application by the closing date of 14 April 2021.
