This is an exciting time to join NRW Civil & Mining as we are currently seeking a Junior Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to work in our mining operations on a 2:1 Roster. This a permanent full-time position FIFO from Perth WA, offering a competitive salary and great staff benefits.

As a HSE Advisor you will be reporting directly to the Project Manager and be part of a site team responsible for promoting and maintaining a positive Health and Safety culture, maintaining the required level of compliance across all work areas on site, facilitate and monitor the site’s risk and incident management process and participate in scheduled work area inspection/audits.

Duties include, but not limited to:
Assisting the team to ensure all activities are completed throughout planning, delivery and implementation
Assisting Supervisors & Managers in the training of employees in hazard and incident prevention
Conducting, managing and reporting on all HSE incident investigations inclusive of development and implementation of remedial action
Assist the team to develop and implement internal health and safety strategies, plans and policies necessary to optimise performance and compliance.
Conducting regular audits of HSE process, systems, programs and site location work environments
Develop and present innovative ideas and solutions which provide a balance between productivity and the safety team members, subcontractors and visitors
Develop, implement and support HSE education and training programs to create and improve HSE awareness
Inspect, monitor, control and evaluate HSE processes, systems and programs for value and effectiveness
Provide the ongoing maintenance and improvement of health, safety and environmental related matters
Many of our operations operate 24 hours per day and some night shift work may be required

The successful applicant will possess the following qualification, experience and attributes:

Minimum Certificate IV in OHS (Essential)
Current First Aid
Current Driver’s License (Essential)
Experience or knowledge in bulk earthworks or civil/mining sectors is highly advantageous
Experience not essential - Would be suited for a Graduate
MUST be willing to work FIFO from Perth
Knowledge of Australian OHS Laws and Regulations
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Reliable work ethic and a CAN-DO attitude
