Remuneration

This is an excellent remuneration package which depending on years of experience would be capped at approx. AUD450. Each year the base salary is indexed to take into account Australian cost of living expenses. Tax evens out at approx. 40%.

Job scope

Your application for this job will be assessed across these core work functions:

1. Clinical, including but not limited to:

• Delivering first class psychiatric care to a regional community - inpatient, outpatient and community contexts. 
• Work closely with primary care/allied health and other stakeholders.
• Supervise psychiatry advanced trainees and other relevant medical staff.

2. Management/Admin, including but not limited to:

• Maintenance of the mental health services records and patient administration system.
• Ensuring ongoing compliance of regulatory standards and requirements.
• Initiating, participating and chairing multidisciplinary meetings and other such meetings.
• Ensure ongoing implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and activities.

3. Continuing medical education:

• Be an enthusiastic and passionate advocate of CME activities for yourself, your peers and all medical staff.
• Take part in CME events such as performance reviews and keep evidence of your own CME.
• Participate in CME events and postgraduate training programs for junior medical staff.
• Supervise and mentor nursing and other primary care/allied health staff.

4. Research:

• Plan, initiate and take part in research appropriate to the service.

You will have

• FRANZCP or equivalent specialist training. If you are SIMG seeking to work in Australia then you must be able to demonstrate at least 2.5 years consultant level experience at time of reading and also:
• 6 month formal post in child and adolescent psychiatry during your training.
• MRCPsych or equivalent.
