JOB DESCRIPTION

Full Job Description
An exciting opportunity to work for a State Government Department as a town planner.

Your new company
Our client is a Government agency branch who currently is busy across a range of projects across QLD. They are looking to employ a number of Town Planners to their planning team to manage and advise on new and existing projects. Our client is offering an attractive salary in line with market demands on a 12 month contract.

Your new role
You will have the opportunity to work as a town planner for a large State Government branch on a long-term contract role. You’ll be tasked with a range of responsibilities from assisting in conducting or procuring initial feasibility studies, through to the full Development Application process, and consulting with various stakeholders. You will provide due diligence advice and coordinate approvals on the projects you will be involved in. Your days will be challenging but rewarding, with the opportunity to see how your projects will make a difference to the public.

What you'll need to succeed
As a successful candidate, you will need a tertiary qualification in Town Planning, with a few years of Planning experience under your belt. You will have enough experience to be confident in providing both accurate and relevant Planning advice in line with the Planning Act 2016. Ideally, you will have had exposure to working in the public sector and have some experience with the Ministerial Infrastructure Designation. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their skills and understanding in the relevant criteria. This role would ideally suit a town planner who has had a few years’ experience in working in the public sector and is able to hit the ground running.

What you'll get in return
Every day will be unique, and you will continually be challenged. You will be placed in a team of likeminded individuals who strive for the success of a project. Your skills as a town planner will grow, due to the exposure you will receive and the skills you will put into practice. The projects you work on will be varied and you will have a consistent pipeline of work to keep you busy.
