Our clients are a family owned and operated production-focused farming business operating an intensive prime lamb breeding property located near Camperdown Vic. Covering some 1,200 Ha in Victoria’s productive south west, this property runs a self-replacing flock of around 6,000 composite ewes which are crossed to terminal sires with a focus on Prime Lamb production.

With a focus on managing a sustainable, efficient and profitable agriculture business, the owners and manager values are to ensure that the property is well set up and resourced and plans are in place to continue investment in infrastructure and property improvement to grow the flock to 7,000 ewes.

We are searching for a motivated, hardworking young person with a passion for agriculture and sheep production, to join the team as Junior Farm Hand. The job will include working closely with and reporting to the manager and will be focused on livestock husbandry and day to day management of the flock and farm. Pasture improvement and summer cropping is largely done by contractors but some experience in tractor operation and general farming would be an advantage. 

The successful candidate will ideally possess -

  • Some experience and a passion for sheep production
  • A good range of practical farming skills ideal (fencing, water pipes, welding etc)
  • Manuel Drivers licence
  • Able to work in a physically demanding job
  • Own working dogs and/or experience with working dogs
