We currently have a permanent and full time opportunity for a HR & QHSE Coordinator. Reporting to the HR & QHSE Manager, key responsibilities of the role will include (but not limited to):

  • Coordinate or assist the HR & QHSE Manager with Employee Life Cycle steps such as Probationary period reviews, PDR, Salary Review, Recognition Program, Exit Interviews, Employee Surveys, etc.
  • Assist Construction Manager and Project Managers with workforce planning and project resourcing requirements
  • Manage and maintain the HR systems and ensure that any record keeping and filing is completed to a high quality standard
  • Assisting with recruitment
  • Manage and coordinate the end-to-end onboarding process including drafting employment contracts, inductions
  • Coordinate training sessions and seminars but also monitor training refreshers required and expiring licenses and qualifications including client inductions
  • Work closely with Payroll to notify them of any terms and conditions changes
  • Assisting to drive the safety culture of the business
  • Assisting with the development of QHSE procedures and systems, including assisting site teams with writing JSEA’s and liaising with head contractors to ensure QHSE requirements are met
  • Providing general advice and assistance relating to QHSE
  • Conducting site QHSE audits
  • Completing incident reports and investigations
  • General HR and QHSE administration

About you

To be successful in this role, you will be reliable, hard-working and flexible. You will possess the following experience, skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar HR & QHSE role
  • Strong people management and leadership skills and experience
  • Strong administration and coordination experience
  • Ability to manage a large workload with very competing deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritise tasks
  • Previous experience in working with large amounts of data and statistics 
  • High level detail and accuracy
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to communicate effectively and assertively
  • Ability to deal appropriately with sensitive information
  • Provide flexibility and the ability to take on various duties on an ad-hoc basis
  • Show an outstanding level of initiative
  • Certificate IV in OHS and RTW Coordinator are desirable
  • Degree in Human Resources
  • Current SA Driver’s License

Key Requirements:

  • Verification of qualifications/licenses will be undertaken along with pre-employment medicals and background police checks for the successful candidate
