  • $31.78 p/hr - $33.92 p/hr + 25% casual loading - Casual (32 hrs per school term time only - 8 sessions x 4 hrs) - ASO3
You will be responsible for the operation and facilitation of peer support group(s) across SA for eligible parents of children with a disability or chronic medical condition. This will include coordinating, planning and delivering 64 hours of relevant group sessions per annum. Creating a comfortable environment that encourages participation and conversation from all participants, you will work in partnership with parents to identify the group's needs and facilitate discussion and the development of relationships within this peer support program. You will identify and organise guest speaker and guest services from the local community whom can also support the parents' needs, and assist with promoting and advertising the group sessions amongst local agencies and primary stakeholders. As well as coordinating the work of the assisting play helper and ensuring children are supervised and appropriate activities are provided, you will manage a set budget and report expenses accordingly, along with monitoring and reporting attendance data.

You will have experience in successfully working with clients which may include parents of children with complex needs, and bring the ability to facilitate groups and deal effectively with issues as they arise. Demonstrating an understanding of the community development approach and applying those skills within the group sessions and plans, you will possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Your excellent organisational skills will ensure group session plans run efficiently and effectively, and sound administration skills will allow you to prepare budget reports, attendance reports, and quarterly reports in a timely manner.
