Period of Appointment

Fixed term for a period of 12 months

Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Simultaneously manages projects and/or undertakes components of projects within cost, time and quality parameters.
Contributes to the planning of projects and identification of audit criteria.
Utilises information technology and computer systems to complete audit work, analyse data and prepare reports.
Maintains working papers (in accordance with Office policy) to record evidence of audit work.
Identifies and researches potential audit issues and assists in developing options and recommendations.
Applies contemporary knowledge of public sector operations and responsibilities and audit evaluation and research methodologies to produce effective performance audits.
Maintains a regular and professional relationships with personnel at all levels in organisations under review.
Prepares draft reports on the outcomes of audits for discussion with clients and prepares draft audit reports for internal review prior to tabling in Parliament and then prepares final reports.
In collaboration with Corporate Support Services, manages the process of tabling reports including preparing and making briefings and presentations for assigned audits.
Manages experts where required.
Provides supervision, guidance, training and performance feedback to assigned staff.

The Head of the State Service has determined that the person nominated for this position is to satisfy a pre-employment check before taking up the appointment, promotion or transfer. The following checks are to be conducted:

Conviction checks in the following; Arson and fire setting; Violent crimes and crimes against the person; Sex-related offences; Drug and alcohol related offences; Crimes involving dishonesty; Crimes involving deception; Making false declarations; Malicious damage and destruction to property; Serious traffic offences; Crimes against public order or relating to the Administration of Law and Justice; Crimes against Executive or the Legislative Power; Crimes involving Conspiracy.
Disciplinary action in previous employment check.
Identification check.
Desirable Requirements
A tertiary qualification at degree level in a relevant discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
Either three years supervised/mentored practical experience or five years unsupervised practical experience in the relevant discipline.
Driver’s Licence.
