The Case Manager is a role within Youth Justice, Community Youth Justice and is accountable to the Youth Justice Supervisor for: Addressing offending behaviour through the application of Social Work knowledge, skills, practice frameworks, methods, and applying ethical decision making models for complex and/or high risk clients as per Australian Association Social Work (AASW) Code of Ethics within the constraints of the statutory environment; supervising Statutory Youth Justice Mandates and providing quality through-care case management to clients; assessment, analysis, reporting and recording on youth offender behaviours and compliance and professionally assessing criminogenic trends, causal patterns and treatment effectiveness and strengthening child/adolescent and family functioning to support non-offending behaviour.

Essential Minimum Qualifications: A degree level qualification in Social Work leading to eligibility for (full) membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.

Special Conditions: Successful applicant will be required to hold a National Police Check (NPC) and satisfactorily complete an Employment-related Screening Check where this is required for the role, prior to being employed. Must hold a current Australian issued Driver’s Licence (equivalent to minimum class ‘C’ – South Australian), which must be maintained. Incumbent must be willing and able to drive all government vehicles within their licence classification during the course of their duties. The incumbent may be assigned to another role/location at this remuneration level or its equivalent and may be required to travel intrastate. Flexible working hours and occasional after or out of hours on call work is required.

Consideration for an offer of employment in the South Australian Public Sector is in part dependent upon a National Police Check, also known as a National Police Certificate.
