The Department of Transport brings together all transport modes to design, plan, build and operate Victoria's transport system. - Annual Salary Range: VPS6.2 $145,010 - $165,983 + Superannuation
- Tenure: Ongoing
- Employment Type: Full Time
- Usual Work Location: Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available)
About the Team
Strategic Communications and Engagement division supports the Department of Transport to deliver on the Government's transport agenda, to get people home sooner and safer and to efficiently move more goods in Victoria's thriving economy.
We do this through clear communications, genuine engagement and marketing campaigns that resonate with people because they are focused on delivering better outcomes for people, wherever they live.
The division innovates with communications approaches to support organisational, cultural and behavioural change.
About the Opportunity
The Head of Communications and Engagement, Metropolitan and Suburban will oversee the development of stakeholder and community engagement strategies to support project planning and delivery.
The role will provide expert advice on engagement related issues to the Minister's office and senior internal and external stakeholders.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Advanced specialist skills to manage the development and implementation of significant community and stakeholder engagement processes and programs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, motivate and develop employees in effective community engagement, communication and stakeholder management.
- Advanced specialist skills and demonstrated political nous to progress and achieve critical organisational outcomes
An appropriate tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in engagement, public relations, communications, education or a similar discipline is mandatory for this role.
