ABOUT THE JOB


the role of Channel and Category Development Manager will work closely with grocery retailers across both Australia and New Zealand to develop strong working relationships that enable Danone to provide superior products and services to consumers and shoppers. You will leverage data and insight to make informed recommendations. You will input to internal innovation projects, feeling confident to challenge the status quo to achieve the desired outcome for both Danone and its customers.


Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):


  • Category Development - lead the category vision and strategy agenda within the grocery channel, from portfolio innovation through to range review excellence
  • Channel Development - build strong partnerships with priority retailers across ANZ through exceptional communication, data and insight led recommendations and collaborative initiatives
  • Business Planning and Monitoring - lead the annual planning process with key customer teams
  • Relationship Management - be the key point of contact for the grocery channel, ensuring timely response as well as accurate information to take the existing relationship to the next level
  • Projects and Innovation - work closely with internal Sales, Marketing and Medical teams to provide insights and recommendations on innovation projects across all categories in the grocery channel, using your expert knowledge to positively challenge and amplify plans

About you

ABOUT YOU


You will be comfortable to make decisions with data (sales, commercial and shopper) to provide confident recommendations both internally and externally. You will enjoy nurturing relationships, always seeking out the opportunity to improve ways of working whilst remaining courageous and empathetic to positively challenge where needed.


Ideally you will have:


  • A minimum of 3-5 years experience working in a Category or Commercial customer facing role
  • Previous experience working with corporate grocery customers such as Coles and Woolworths
  • Confidence using scan and shopper data to make decisions
  • A working knowledge of Quantium or similar is essential and previous experience with Coles Synergy is desired
  • Experience leading and providing insights to projects
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to develop strong working relationships both internally and externally
  • Space management experience is desirable however not essential
