JOB DESCRIPTION
- The Juries Act 2000 provides for the operation and administration of a system of trial by jury that equitably spreads the obligation of jury service amongst the community and makes juries more representative of the community.
- Juries Victoria (JV) ensures enough Victorian citizens are available to serve as jurors in the Supreme and County Courts.
- JV strives to improve jury management processes to meet the needs of courts, while proactively supporting citizens through their jury journey.
- Duties include answering phone and counter enquiries, providing information on jury service, attending court, communicating with court staff and other administrative tasks.
- To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills. You will be enthusiastic and will not be afraid to present information to groups. You will also be organised, have excellent computer and data entry skills, and be able to work within a small team. Experience working in a professional office environment is highly regarded.
- The successful candidate must be prepared to travel to regional courts across Victoria on a rostered basis to assist in the coordination of jury empanelments at those locations.
