The Role

Our Small Business Banking Managers help make our SME customer’s lives as easy as possible and provide them with the opportunity to interact with experienced commercial lenders in a way that works for them.

This role sits within a vibrant contact centre environment where we offer flexible arrangements such as the option to work from home & the office. To ensure our customers are provided the very best service, you will work within an accommodating 8 hour roster that operates between 8am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday.

In this role you will respond to incoming enquiries from SME customers, along with the requirement to generate new leads and build relationships within the Suncorp Group, connecting over the phone or online. You will work with the customer to discover their business needs and how Suncorp can achieve these to ensure a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building relationships with our customers and growing a portfolio of Business Customers
  • Achieving allocated sales objectives by originating lending through assessing the financial needs of customers and providing options to address specific needs
  • Having meaningful needs-based conversations with our customers exploring their requirements across the Group’s full range of products.

To be successful in this role you will have excellent credit assessment, business generation & communication skills, along with the genuine desire to provide superior customer service. You will have a proven background in commercial sales and willingness to get involved and provide support to both the customer and your team.

Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in business lending
  • Driven by reaching growth targets along with identification, acquisition and retention of a customer base
  • Ideally hold or have previously held a Delegated Lending Approval Authority or be working towards this

The role is ideal for someone who is passionate about what they do without the long hours on the road and values the flexibility of working from home or the office. This role also enables our sales driven Business Banking Managers to focus on the thrill of the chase, as there are no ongoing portfolio compliance or post settlement administrative activities. The successful candidate will become part of an enthusiastic and close-knit team, each of whom have 5+ years relationship management experience within a commercial environment.
