About the role

The position is responsible for providing leadership and direction on Infection Control issues to compliment the strategic direction, daily operational processes to enable the continued delivery of a high standard of health care and the continual achievement of accreditation for Hurstville Private. This will be achieved through coordinating and managing the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Infection Control procedures, practices and standards.

By working closely with HICMR, members of the multidisciplinary team, participating in relevant committees and the collecting and collating identified statistical data, key performance indicators (KPIs) and infection control clinical indicators.

Essential Criteria

  • Current Registration APHRA
  • Degree in Nursing or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years Nursing experience
  • Membership with ACIPC
  • Immunisation Certification or working towards
  • Computer Literate
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and an ability to identify and improve processes
  • Demonstrated ability to be able to work autonomously with exceptional time management, problem solving and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accreditation within a Hospital Setting
  • Comprehensive understanding of Infection control Prevention management principles

Desirable Criteria

  • Postgraduate qualifications in the relevant field
  • Experience with HICMR auditing processes
