Safety and Wellbeing Advisor

The position of Safety and Wellbeing Advisor forms a part of the People and Culture branch within Corporate Service Group. People and Culture is a multi-disciplinary team which operations within the Corporate Services Group of DJPR. It is a strategic, tactical and operational function, supporting the achievement of the department's objectives by providing excellent service and trusted advice.

As the Safety and Wellbeing Advisor, you are a key point of contact within the department for the provision of advice on, and project management of, core occupational health and safety and wellbeing programs, projects, policies and services.

The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of a team, enjoy flexible working arrangements and undertake a wide variety of work across the division and with internal and external stakeholders.

The key accountabilities of the role will include:

  • Assist in the coordination of the delivery of the Department's Corporate Occupational Health and Safety and Wellbeing function, including planning, marketing and delivery of programs, seminars, events and on-line services.
  • Ensure that all occupational health and safety and wellbeing projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Manage the health and safety training, records and register for required roles/functions such as Designated First Aiders and Health and Safety Representatives.
  • Participate in the annual planning of programs with service providers to ensure program content is strategically targeted to Departmental needs.
  • Coordinate the Department's Wellbeing Advocate Network/Health Champions Network and develop a community of practice with other key stakeholders to promote and regularly update on the wellbeing program, supports and services.
