About Ormeau Woods State High School

Located on the corner of Goldmine Road and Minka Lane, Ormeau Woods State High opened in January 2009 with 250 students in Years 8 and 9. In 2012 the first cohort of Year 12 students graduated. Ormeau Woods State High School is developing new and innovative approaches to education. There is extensive use of modern technologies and the latest in software applications. Your Role

As a Head of Department - Student Support you are accountable for providing leadership of the designated House under the direction of the relevant Deputy Principal. You will have key responsibilities for student engagement and wellbeing across the core areas of uniform, behaviour, attendance and academic performance (UBAA). This position will have a teaching allocation of one teaching line (0.2).

Major Duties and Responsibilities are:
Student Management and Support
Staff Development and Performance
Resource Management and Operational Excellence

Junior School Duties (in consultation with Administration):
Yr 7 Transitions and Feeder Primary School Relations
Yr 8 JET Planning
Yr 9 SET Planning / JCE Implementation
XL program coordination

Or Senior School Duties (in consultation with Administration):

Yr 10 SET Planning review process
Yr 11 Senior Outcomes, including Academic Coaching
Yr 12 Senior Outcomes, including Academic Coaching

A mandatory requirement of this role is:
Current full registration or current provisional registration with eligibility for full registration, as a teacher in Queensland.
Teachers working in Education and Care Services (including State Delivered Kindergarten programs) require an exemption card issued by Blue Card Services.
