Job description:
Payroll Services is part of the Payroll and HR Operations Branch within the Corporate and Cross Government Services Division and is a national team responsible for the timely and accurate administration of employee salaries and entitlements. As a Shared Services provider, the section delivers payroll services to a range of Australian Government departments and agencies located across Australia.

The Payroll Manager works under limited direction, allowing for the exercise of both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. They have a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of payroll systems, processes, policies and related legislation.

The Payroll Manager leads a payroll team in all aspects of payroll services, this includes management of employees, operationally significant payroll related project work, strategic planning, setting of work priorities and practices and the development and implementation of team work plans including allocating work and monitoring workloads to ensure team/s are achieving business goals.

The Payroll Manager works closely with payroll employees to achieve positive outcomes. They are required to establish and maintain relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Work Environment

Interstate travel from time-to-time may be required in this role. Out posting will not be considered.
