An exciting opportunity has become available for a Management Accountant to join our team on a 12 month fixed-term contract.

Reporting directly to the Area Financial Controller SA/WA, your role will be responsible for managing daily accounting and reporting functions across multiple hotels as well as assisting in the smooth running of the Accounts department. This unique roll can be performed from both Adelaide and Perth.

Getting to know the role and your responsibilities

  • Preparation and entry of month end journals
  • Coordinate and prepare monthly property Profit and Loss statements, to meet reporting deadlines.
  • Variance analysis and investigation where necessary and preparation of management reports
  • Preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations monthly
  • Work with and maintain constructive relationships with property GMs and their teams.
  • Ongoing assistance to property GMs in respect of operational matters that have a financial perspective.
  • Maintenance of monthly FBT registers and preparation of annual FBT returns
  • Completion of monthly property Business Activity Statement reconciliations
  • Assist Financial Controller and Property General Manager with monthly forecast and associated reports
  • Preparation of annual budgets (internal/external)
  • Oversee the account receivable function and report anomalies to Financial Controller accordingly
  • Maintain daily accounts duties for selected properties
  • Assist with the documentation and development of new systems and processes
  • Other accounting duties and administrative duties as required by the Financial Controller and/or Regional Financial Controller

What we need from you

  • A relevant degree in Accounting or Finance and CA/CPA Qualified or currently pursuing advantageous
  • Minimum of 4 years commercial accounting experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience being proactive essential, along with the ability to build relationships 
  • Time management skills , ability to set goals and priorities tasks
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a strong desire to learn
  • Experience using Dynamics Great Plains an advantage
  • Intermediate Excel skills
