Full Job Description
Provide clinical support to assist the Allied Health team in the provision of effective and confidential, patient care services across Allied Health and its environments, including the Geriatric and Rehabilitation Services, surgical inpatients and outpatient services. The position will provide environmental maintenance of the specific work areas within the Allied Health services, STARS.

Allied Health Assistant - Speech Pathology at new specialist public health facility!

Surgical, Treatment and Rehabilitation Service (STARS) is a new greenfield and digital, specialist public health facility which is due to open in 2020. It has been designed to deliver a range of new and expanded healthcare services to meet demand and increase patient access to specialist rehabilitation services, elective surgical and endoscopy procedural services.

STARS is a new 182-bed facility that couples complex rehabilitation and specialist elective surgical services and procedures in a planned procedure environment to provide patients with greater access to care in clinically recommended timeframes.

We are building a team to deliver exceptional healthcare at STARS for Metro North Hospital and Health Service (MNHHS) - Australia's biggest, best and nicest health service.

Based in Herston, STARS also forms part of the Herston Health Precinct - home to a collaborative community of 13,000 staff including clinicians and healthcare professionals, researchers and students.

Your Opportunity

Provide a defined range of clinical screening assessments and interventions for patients of the speech pathology and allied health service, as delegated by a relevant allied health professional.
Provide basic education on a defined range of topics to patients or groups of patients.
Initiate changes to treatment programs under the direction of the health professional using results from standardised assessment and treatment interventions.
Lead group treatment sessions together with an allied health professional, including providing feedback to the referring health professional on individual and group performance.
Contribute to patient records according to organisational guidelines and legal requirements.
