  • VPS5: $101,120 - $122,348 per annum plus superannuation

About the opportunity

This role provides advanced advice and analysis to a range of activities associated with the on-going development of the portfolio's budget and medium-longer term financial sustainability.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Provides advanced advice and analysis to a range of activities associated with the on-going development of the portfolio's budget and medium-longer term financial sustainability.
  • Supports the development of the annual budget submission.
  • Demonstrate advanced financial expertise to routinely advise/explain complex concepts, ideas and issues to senior management on complex financial issues which facilitate strategic decision making.
  • Provide expert financial analysis to support the development of medium-longer term financial sustainability strategies which allocate resources appropriately to achieve stated objectives and actively manage material risks.
  • Contribute to projects designed to increase effectiveness and efficiency of the Financial Management and Technology Services Group.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Financial skills: Excellent financial skills and demonstrated experience in budgeting and financial analysis. This includes the ability to clearly articulate the financial implications of policy decisions and/or other transactions and the provision of advice to senior management on budget and financial management issues to facilitate strategic decision making.
