Enrolled Nurse – Tamworth Mental Health Unit

Tamworth Mental Health Unit is currently seeking passionate and dedicated Enrolled Nurses to join their team on a permanent part-time or casual basis.

About the position:
As an Enrolled Nurse within Tamworth Mental Health Services, you will provide individualised, excellent patient care to maximise the health outcomes for the patient, under the guidance and direction of the Registered Nurse. 

The Tamworth Mental Health Unit is a 25 bed acute specialist psychiatric unit that services the communities of the New England region. The Unit is contemporary and innovative, ensures their practice is informed by trauma informed care principles and continuously strives to provide excellent care for the community.

Our successful candidates will be supported in this position by the Nursing leadership team, who collectively have nearly 50 years of psychiatric nursing experience! You will work closely with our Clinical Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Specialists and senior Registered Nurses as well as having access to education inservices weekly and one on one mentoring to ensure your professional development.

Our nursing team work 7 day rosters which means that this position will involve different shifts on weekdays and weekends.

The dynamic and innovative multidisciplinary team consists of some fantastic contemporary Psychiatrists, Allied health clinicians, medical staff and of course your nursing colleagues. Our leadership team has a strong interest in and commitment to nursing professional development and are extremely proud of the work they do. About You:
Our successful candidates will ideally have a good working background within acute mental health services or will be interested in and eager to gain experience in mental health nursing. Our team is passionate and innovative with a good sense of humour so our successful candidates will also need to value these qualities and be dedicated to providing excellent care for our community. 

Job share arrangements will be considered.

An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part time and temporary full/part time vacancies.

To be eligible for employment in these roles you must be: an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or a citizen of another country with an appropriate visa that allows you to work in Australia. 

If you currently hold a temporary visa that allows you to live and work in Australia you may only be offered employment in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
