The Health and Security Assistant is an important member of the multi-disciplinary team who will provide a local response to incidents, maintain general safety of the unit and interact with patients in a wide variety of situations and contexts. These include: 

  • Immediate response to critical incidents 
  • Escorting patients to other departments/appoinments 
  • Assisting with the cleaniness of the unit 
  • Assist with daily unit activity program 
  • Ensure that daily enviromental searches of the unit are being carried out. 
  • Testing and recording of duress alarms on a routine basis.
  • Responsible for checking and maintaining eqipment on the unit and ensuring it is in good working order.
  • Also the potential to work in any of the Mental Health Inpatient Unit as required.
