Mental Health Inpatient Unit, St George Mental Health Service, located on the St George Hospital campus, Kogarah
The Health and Security Assistant is an important member of the multi-disciplinary team who will provide a local response to incidents, maintain general safety of the unit and interact with patients in a wide variety of situations and contexts. These include:
- Immediate response to critical incidents
- Escorting patients to other departments/appoinments
- Assisting with the cleaniness of the unit
- Assist with daily unit activity program
- Ensure that daily enviromental searches of the unit are being carried out.
- Testing and recording of duress alarms on a routine basis.
- Responsible for checking and maintaining eqipment on the unit and ensuring it is in good working order.
- Also the potential to work in any of the Mental Health Inpatient Unit as required.
