About the role:

Do you want to work in a role that supports operational policing?
Would you like to be part of a fun, dynamic and diverse payroll team with flexible work conditions?
Bring your excellent customer service skills and we will provide you with on the job training while you provide quality, timely service and support in processing personnel and payroll transactions.

Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and support flexible working arrangements. 

Your duties will include: 

  • Processing personnel and payroll transactions ensuring compliance with legislation.
  • Developing and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Analysing and interpreting payroll data and reports.
  • Undertaking administrative tasks including maintaining personnel records and files.


As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Demonstrated excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a diverse payroll team.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and accurate data entry skills.
  • The ability to interpret and apply relative legislation relating to employee entitlements.


Requirements and relevant information:

  • Multiple full time/part time, fixed term and ongoing positions available.
  • Positions are location at the Victoria Police Centre, 311 Spencer Street, Docklands.
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
  • The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.


Applicants considered suitable for the role will be placed in an order of merit which will remain valid for a period of 12 months. In the event that you are found suitable for the role but you are not successful for the advertised position on this occasion, you will be contacted should future VPS 2 Payroll Practitioner positions become available within the next 12 months.

**Your usual place of work will be within the HR Programs Division, Human Resource Department, however you may be required to work at any other division within the Department as required.
