In this role you will work collaboratively with objective of standardizing client onboarding, periodic review, client static data management and other repeatable services in order to deliver world class client experience. You will be part of a “best in class” team to deliver management control and oversight of client on-boarding within Regulatory and Internal risk parameters. You will be a member of a team in a quality controlled environment with a high level of accuracy, attention to details and prescribed processes. Your role will involve interaction across all business areas and across global teams and collaboration with risk and product management teams

As the Senior Quality Check Specialist you will be part of the Global Client On-boarding (GCO) Team within the Group Operations with a focus on ongoing customer due diligence.

The work undertaken by Global Client Onboarding enables our Institutional Banking and Markets (IB&M) and Financial Crimes Compliance teams to make risk-based decisions and helps to ensure CBA meets regulatory obligations in Australia and globally.

On any given day you will be:

  • Ensuring GCO maintains a high level of performance to achieve global targets and individuals goals for new client onboarding and periodic review.
  • Reviewing KYC files for quality and accuracy and ensuring GCO maintains a low defect and re-work rate
  • Providing technical support and coaching to team members to act as a subject matter expert across onboarding processes and KYC requirements
  • Conducting reviews and provide feedback on team members’ work to ensure that it meets or exceeds agreed quality standards
  • Participating in team QA calibration sessions to identify capability gaps and assist in addressing these gaps in an agile manner.
  • Providing technical support and coaching to team members to act as a subject matter expert across onboarding processes and KYC requirements
  • Maintaining a strong control environment to ensure that records are completed
  • Ensuring controls are appropriately executed and evidenced and staff are aware of their responsibilities at different stages of the preparation and review process
  • Identifying, escalating and managing emerging issues or concerns.
  • Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement

We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
  • KYC and/or On-going Customer Due Diligence experience in a corporate banking environment ideally in an institutional banking role.
  • Previous experience in monitoring or performing QA on an existing onboarding process
  • In-depth knowledge of domestic and international customer due diligence standards
Experience leading change, updating SOP’s and processes. * Strong regulatory knowledge of on boarding, know your client (KYC), anti-money laundering (AML) and compliance frameworks.
  • Ability to use onboarding and workflow systems
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills – ability to communicate complex on boarding issues across the stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently with time management skills
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy whilst working to competing priorities;
