Wuthathi Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC manages country under Native Title rights on land and adjacent sea islands in the Shelburne Bay area on Cape York Peninsula. Wuthathi is committed to managing and caring for country, through programs and projects that deliver and support the cultural and conservation values of our land. Wuthathi has an office in Cairns and is in the process of constructing an operational Ranger Base to carry out on-country projects.

The Administration Officer is based in Cairns and will provide administrative and program support. The position is 30 hours per week, permanent part-time. Duties include:

Booking travel, accommodation and arranging some logistical requirements for Ranger teams on-country trips.
Booking travel, accommodation and meeting requirements for Wuthathi members and directors who periodically attend Cairns meetings from remote locations.
Prepare administrative reports for on-country activities as part of grant acquittals.
Assist the Coordinator with administrative requirements of new grant applications.
Prepare and distribute meeting agendas and minutes.
Upload reports and documents to Wuthathi website and ORIC website.
Checking and ordering supplies both for the Cairns Office and Ranger Base including stationery, uniforms & PPE and replenishment of supplies and equipment as required.
Collect mail and run errands in Cairns.
Establish & maintain an electronic filing system.

Experience and Qualities

A sound background in office administration.
Ability to work with a small local office team and remotely located staff.
Some knowledge of Federal and State Government grant funding applications would be an advantage.
An understanding of Indigenous values, culture and relationship with country, including a willingness to learn about Wuthathi people.
Wuthathi people are encouraged to apply but this is not a mandatory requirement of the position.
