About the Role

  • The occupant of the position is responsible for the provision of high quality, evidence-based Nutrition and Dietetics Services to inpatients, outpatients and staff of the NBMLHD.
  • The Dietitian level 1-2 will be responsible for:
  • High level of clinical expertise and knowledge in general clinical Dietetics
  • Evaluating and developing the Dietetic services to inpatients and outpatients and other clients/staff
  • Regular and ongoing quality improvement activities
  • Attending relevant clinical and department meetings (ward rounds, case conferences, lectures, professional development sessions, staff meetings)
  • Designing and implementing nutritional counselling/education programs for patients and staff as required
  • Participate in Dietetics student supervision and teaching as required.

Selection Criteria to be addressed: * Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics and eligible for full membership of the Dietitians Australia.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and skills in nutrition and dietetic practice, including the inpatient acute care setting.
  • Current experience as a clinicial dietitian with demonstrated post graduate experience.
  • Demonstrated evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills, including experience and confidence within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully both as part of a team and independently, while managing a high paced and high volume workload.
  • High level computer skills in a wide variety of applications/programs, including experience with Diet Office/Food service IT systems.
  • Experience in nutrition related quality improvement projects focusing on improvements in clinical patient care and/or services.
  • Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
