This means that SVHM are seeking suitably qualified and experienced Registered & Endorsed Enrolled Nurses across a range of specialties. About the Role

SVHM is currently seeking experienced nurses for the following units/wards on our Fitzroy site:

  • Cardiothoracic Surgery
  • Cardiology & Coronary Care
  • ENT/Plastic Surgery/Vascular
  • Upper GI/Hepatobiliary/Breast & Endocrine Surgery
  • Colorectal/Gastroenterology/Urology Surgery
  • General Medicine
  • Orthopaedics
  • Orthopaedic Oncology
  • Stroke, Neurology, Renal
  • Correctional Health - Acute Medical & Surgical (Our Correctional Health position are available in both our Fitzroy and Truganina Wards)
  • Emergency Department

To be eligible you are required to have recent relevant acute care experience which must be evident in your application.

We are able to offer both full time and part time positions. You will be required to work a full range of shifts to meet our 24 hour service.

Duties

  • Role model a Person Centred Approach to evidenced based clinical care
  • Work within your scope of practice as per the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia and local policies
  • Demonstrates active pursuit of professional development relating to area of expertise
  • Accurately documents patient care in accordance with hospital documentation guidelines
  • Assists in the achievement of ward / unit key performance indicators.
  • Manage the physical and emotional well-being of the patient
  • Undertake effective admission and discharge processes in accordance with the hospital and unit guidelines
  • Liaise effectively with the patient, the patient's family, and multidisciplinary team

Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Must hold a Bachelor or Diploma of Nursing
  • Current condition free registration with AHPRA
  • Recent clinical experience in one of the above listed specialties including a minimum of one year experience working in Australia (this can include a Graduate Program)
  • Post Graduate specialty qualifications are highly desirable
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • You must possess the right to permanently live and work in Australia
