Position Details

The Senior Stakeholder and Engagement Advisor will increase the Victorian public's knowledge and understanding of the Ombudsman's role and services. Using your exceptional relationship building skills, you will proactively identify, develop and seize opportunities for engagement, collaboration and awareness-raising activities with key community organisations.

Your insights and strategic mindset will allow us to sensitively and respectfully reach a wide range of suburban, regional and marginalised communities. Through your work, you will help ensure vulnerable Victorians are aware of – and access - the assistance we provide in resolving complaints about government organisations.

  • VPS 5.1 classification
  • $101,120 - $111,734 (VPS Enterprise Agreement 2020)
  • 2 year fixed-term role available (1 FTE)

Who we are: 

We're the Victorian Ombudsman. Our office provides a free, independent, accessible and impartial service to all Victorians. Our purpose is to ensure fairness for Victorians in their dealings with the public sector, to improve public administration and to foster confidence in the integrity of the sector.

You will bring to this opportunity a mix of experience in:

  • Building and maintaining close relationships with organisations and groups from a range of backgrounds
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities for collaboration or awareness-raising activities
  • Developing engagement strategies across a wide range of audiences
  • Highly developed verbal and written communication skills 
  • Outstanding time management skills
  • Qualifications in communications, journalism, public relations or other relevant field
  • IAP2 Certificate in Engagement (preferred).
