Our GBS team

The mission of the Global Business Services (GBS) unit is to leverage talent, technology, and partnership to create growth, value, innovation and differentiation via a service mindset.

The role with us

This role is primarily responsible for ensuring the maintenance and network build requirements of the Tasmanian Government Radio Network (TasGRN), ensuring consistent quality and reliability of the Telstra networks.

Working with one of the most advanced networks in the world, you will use the latest, most cutting-edge technology to maintain our network 24x7, 365 days a year.

Key responsibilities

Complete network fault investigations and Interference investigations to provide an assessment and identification of a range of technical problems, root cause investigations and associated remediation activities.

Work closely with Technical Expert, Field Project Coordinator, Service Manager and Team Lead to drive and deliver key accountabilities.

Manage and take ownership of High Severity Faults from end to end and provide technical assistance to remote technicians and third-party providers.

Possess exceptional skills in the utilisation of all test equipment, tools, and instruments.

Excellent knowledge of Digital RF and IP Networks.

Undertake recalls, emergency work and planned events to meet all requirements of the contract.

About you

To be successful in the role, you will have:
Technical diploma level qualification or relevant industry experience/on the job training in telecommunications digital/analogue radio and data IP networks.

An employee will be required to possess and maintain the relevant and applicable licenses/qualifications to perform this role, as deemed mandatory by regulatory and legal authorities and must also possess and maintain a current driver’s license. (Driver’s license).

Demonstrate a proficient ability to act with urgency and responsiveness to Stakeholder issues, prioritising multiple activities to deliver the best outcome.

Demonstrate a proficient competency across all listed skills and accountabilities is essential.

High level ability to develop and maintain effective networks and relationships with a broad network stakeholder relationship.

Strong Interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders to deliver on short-term customer/team/project priorities.

Effective communications skills both verbal and written

Knowledge of Microsoft Suite.

Knowledge of Telecommunications field digital tool skills and ability to produce contractual technical reports (highly desirable).
