What you'll be doing

To ensure the provision of a comprehensive clinical pharmacy service to patients of the organisation, including optimising patient outcomes by working with colleagues and other Health Care Professionals to enhance the Quality Use of Medicine (QUM). 
The Senior Pharmacist – Surgical and Critical Care is responsible for a clinical and leadership role in the provision and further development of a clinical pharmacy service to surgical and critical care patients in the hospital in line with agreed organisational priorities.
 

  1. Full registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia with no conditions or restrictions on scope of practice
  2. Extensive experience in the provision of advanced clinical pharmacy services including advanced level practice in Critical Care and/or Surgery in a hospital setting (inclusive of experience as a Grade 2 Hospital Pharmacist) with a demonstrated knowledge of contemporary pharmacy practice and Quality Use of Medicine (QUM).
  3. Demonstrated experience in Quality Assurance activities and the application of relevant HealthCare standards
  4. Demonstrated leadership and ability to work with and promote multidisciplinary teamwork in a busy healthcare environment
  5. Demonstrated excellent interpersonal skills, clinical supervision and management skills including ability to mentor, motivate and inspire ongoing development of staff
  6. Demonstrated excellence in written, oral and presentation skills
  7. Demonstrated skills in training and education and a commitment to professional development and research to improve patient care
  8. Demonstrated interest and prior experience in implementation of practice change , translational research and innovative practices to optimise patient care.
