An exciting opportunity exists for a Registered Nurse with a strong interest in and commitment to Intensive Care Nursing to join the very experienced and dedicated Intensive Care Unit (ICU) team at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital.

Employment Type: Permanent Part Time (PPT) and Temporary Part Time (TPT) until 22 August 2021
Position Classification: Registered Nurse
Remuneration: $32.47 - $45.59 per hour
Hours Per Week: 30 hours PPT and 6 hours TPT

What you'll be doing

The NSLHD Nursing and Midwifery Workforce will be compassionate, competent, confident, contemporary, capable and committed to leading person-centred health care.

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individual/s and the greater health care team to achieve quality patient care outcome.
Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation; Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
  2. Registered Nurse - Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  3. Demonstrated recent competencies in and/or knowledge of the complexities and challenges involved in caring for patients in the Intensive Care, High Dependency and/or Acute Care setting.
  4. Demonstrated well developed and effective communication and time management skills.
  5. Demonstrated ability to work individually and interpersonal skills whilst working within a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Demonstrated evidence of and commitment to professional development, evidence based practice and an understanding of recent contemporary changes in critical care nursing.
  7. Demonstrated knowledge of legislative and policy requirements that govern Registered Nursing practice.
  8. Demonstrated understanding of quality improvement, infection control, Work Health & Safety (WHS) and Equal Employment Opportunities (EEO).
