The Opportunity

We are currently looking for a self-motivated individual to join our team as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic at our Gosford depot.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Workshops team within a growing company and a supportive, friendly team environment. You will be given the opportunity to grow, develop and take on additional responsibilities during your employment. Heavy vehicle diesel mechanic experience is preferred but not necessary as we are willing to train and develop the right individual for the position.

The Job

Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor, this role requires you to have a mature and professional approach with excellent communication skills. Your main duties will include:

  • Diagnosing, inspecting, reconditioning, repairing, assembling the fleet and ensuring safety, quality and Busways standards are followed at all times.
  • Maintaining all company vehicles and assets in accordance with Manufacturer's guidelines
  • Ensuring all maintenance work is performed according to company procedures
  • Attend breakdowns and carry out any field related mechanical repairs
  • Effectively and efficiently communicate any safety or maintenance issues
  • Adhering to all Work, Health & Safety requirements whilst performing work duties
  • Maintaining clean workshop practices on a daily basis

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • A current MVTC licence
  • A trade qualification as a Diesel Mechanic
  • Strong Experience in the service and maintenance of heavy diesel products, including engine overhauls, major repairs including electrical, hydraulic and diagnostic skills. Where your experience might not be as strong across all areas, we would be happy to provide training to assist you in developing these skills.
  • Must hold a valid NSW driver's licence as well as an MR licence
  • Strong focus on safety in the workplace
  • Can-do attitude with a drive to exceed

Our workshop staff play a critical role within the business to ensure our ever-evolving fleet of vehicles are continually maintained to the highest standard to keep our staff and passengers safe out on the road.

Busways provides ongoing training and support to employees based on their level of experience to enable staff to meet our standards. All work uniforms and any/all necessary PPE will be provided in accordance with company procedures
