About the role

We are currently recruiting for a full time Project Officer to join our growing team on a contract till June 2022 (with possible extension). Based at our Mackay site, this role will coordinate the Community Careers Work Skills project to assist participants with training and activities that will support their transition to employment and/or further education and training. This may include support to coordinate accredited and non-accredited training, participant recruitment, post-placement support and recording participant outcomes.

The Project Officer will have an understanding of the issues faced by participants when planning to enter or return to the workforce and will have sound administrative skills to complete project administration and reporting requirements.

About You

The successful applicant will come with sound administration skills and preferably have industry related experienced from sectors such as Community Services, Employment Services or Training.

You will also be able to confidently develop and maintain relationships with the team, as well as various Stakeholder groups when required including RTOs, local employers and community groups.

You will also come with:

  • A knowledge of the issues experienced by jobseekers including barriers to education, training and employment.
  • Intermediate competency in computer applications, (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to ensure clear and concise information is relayed as aligned to the audience.

A current and valid driver’s licence is essential, as is a current Blue Card or the willingness to gain one prior to commencement. The successful candidate will also be required to undergo a Federal Police Check.
