Casual, 20-40 hours a week, start ASAP

Sydney based; role will be predominately working from home with training and regular catchups taking place in person in Mosman, NSW.

Dock & Bay is a dynamic start-up in the beach, home, fitness and travel apparel markets. Our products are now available globally with distribution warehouses in the UK, Canada, USA and Australia. We have sold over a million products since we launched in 2015 and we did this through a hardworking, creative and fun work ethic. Based between Sydney and London we’re looking for our next hire to widen our international team.

We’re looking for a creative assistant to work closely with our Sydney-based Head Photographer to help with all aspects of the brand’s content creation. 

The role will include organising campaign and studio shoots, retouching imagery, editing video content, and reaching out to influencers and third-party content creators. You will also be required to help at shoots on location where your role will be photography assistant and digital operator, as well as providing styling and shoot prep assistance. Some domestic travel will be required.

Working closely with our Head Photographer you will learn the ins and outs of what’s involved in producing a fashion and lifestyle campaign, as well as being trained in editing engaging imagery and visual content for use across online and print mediums.

You will need to be creative and have a good eye for quality visual imagery. You must have solid experience in using Adobe Photoshop & Premiere Pro, however this does not need to be professional experience as you will be closely guided by the Head Photographer. 

This new appointment requires a fun and friendly personality with an upbeat attitude and attention to detail. Flexibility and the ability to learn quickly is a must. Given the nature of the role, you will need to be creative, hardworking, ambitious, personable and able to work autonomously where required.

The role would suit a university student or a new graduate looking to break into the photography industry.


  • At least 2-3 years experience in retouching and video editing
  • At least 2-3 years experience in photography
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a down to earth touch
  • Superior knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro)
  • Useful: knowledge of Capture One and experience as a digital operator
  • Useful: experience in studio photography
  • Useful: knowledge of After Effects
  • MacOS literate
  • Impressive portfolio
  • Car: ability to drive to shoot locations, pick up equipment etc.
