JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client is one of the leading steel providers in Australia who are seeking an experianced Finance Business Partner for an exciting position based in Whyalla. The role will be fulltime for months.

Start: ASAP

Length: 6 Months

Hours: Flexiable (38 hours per week)

Hourly Rate: $41-45 + Super

Role Purpose

  • Provision of commercial recommendations, support, advice and governance at targeted levels of the Steelworks operations (i.e. Ironmaking, Steelmaking or Steel Products)
  • Provision of specialised commercial support, advice and governance at targeted areas of the Steelworks operations (i.e. Raw Material Management, Maintenance or Power &Services)
  • Provision of business and management information to support and drive the achievement of the above areas operations goals.
  • Development of Commercial capability within the Business teams.
  • Provision of analysis and recommendations for business growth and gap closure opportunities.
  • This role is responsible for business performance analysis, understanding and communicating key business drivers including governance and Operational Financial planning and analysis
  • Support statutory and management reporting, including month end closure.

Role Dimensions

  • Annual Production - 1,200,000 Accept tonnes

  • Total Operating spend (based on FY19) is $950m
  • Work with 5 key areas operational areas (Ironmaking, Steelmaking, Steel products, Power and Services, Central Engineering)
  • Total Number of Operations employees - 1,023

Functional/ Technical Skills & Competencies

  • Ability to identify and understand key drivers in a complex commercial environment
  • Financial evaluation.
  • Strategy development
  • Financial modelling and Business Case preparation

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualification - commercial, Finance, business management, etc.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in manufacturing businesses.
  • Formal accounting qualification (CA/CPA)
  • 10 years relevant post graduate experience
  • Project evaluation experience
  • Accounting Standards and Tax
