The Opportunity

Joining this Federal Government Agency as the APS6 Practice Officer you will be accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work guided by legislation, polices, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents. This role works within the Early Childhood Service branch focussing on the delivery of Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach. This position is a temporary assignment until June 2022 and is APS6 equivalent. 

The Role:

The duties for an APS 6 Practice Officer within the Early Childhood Services may include:

  • Collaborating with the branch, division and wider organisation to support the understanding of the Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach
  • Enhance key stakeholder understanding and interpretation of legislative and policy frameworks
  • Provide advisory support to facilitate understanding of best practice within early childhood intervention
  • Contribute to achieving outcomes in line with key deliverables
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and have input into strategic direction
  • Derive meaningful and actionable information from data
  • Support the delivery of training packages with partner trainers and the training team

About you:

To be considered for this role you must demonstrate;
  • An understanding of the early childhood sector and an understanding of the ECEI approach
  • Results orientation, resilience, flexibility and a positive approach to achieving outcomes
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Highly developed organisational skills and demonstrated ability to work to strict timeframes
  • Leadership experience, ability to manage setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team
  • Relevant Qualification in Early Childhood/Allied Health (Desirable)
