We are looking for a passionate part time Registered Nurse (3 days per week) to work for GenesisCare Oncology South Australia across 4 locations in Metropolitan Adelaide. You will provide clinical care, education and support the delivery of exceptional patient experience by responding to patient needs as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality care within a Radiation Oncology environment.

What you’ll do:

  • Provide excellent patient care, ensuring patient’s physical and psychological needs are met
  • Undertake patient interaction, communications, education, wound management and drug administration as per Practice Protocol
  • Effectively manage nursing patient load
  • Facilitate effective lines of communication with doctors, patient services, physics, and radiation therapy staff and provide feedback to the doctors and radiation therapy staff as relevant regarding their patients
  • Ensure all patient listed events are documented, communicated and actioned
  • Monitor and maintain procedures, protocols, practices and clinical guidelines in line with best practice radiation oncology nursing standards
  • Ensure medication management protocols are followed
  • Establish communication for allied health services using ISBAR communication tool to all allied health services along with supported documented evidence
  • Comply with patient handover procedures as per ISBAR communication tool
  • Support the clinical introduction of new medications / drugs and nursing products by demonstrating knowledge and application in the patient care setting

Who you are:

  • Eligible for registration as a Nurse with AHPRA
  • An experienced clinical nurse with demonstrated understanding of oncology and the ability to liaise with allied health care
  • An effective communicator with exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to demonstrate empathy for patients and their carers
  • An analytical thinker with well-developed problem-solving skills
  • Committed the application of quality improvement and best practice principles, including the NSQHS
  • Strongly committed to quality patient care
  • Committed to continuing Professional Development
  • Experienced in wound care management
  • Experienced in the use of electronic clinical administration systems including Microsoft Office software.
  • A positive thinker with a can-do attitude who enjoys the challenges of working in a dynamic fast paced environment
