About the role:
This position will see you provide safe, compassionate woman centred care within the maternity and gynaecology service ensuring care is delivered in partnership with women and their families. Gunnedah Maternity staffing is 1 midwife per shift, 8 hour shifts with a midwife on call for support when activity increases. The sector Clinical Midwife Educator (CME) visits Gunnedah once a week and conducts education sessions including mandatory requirements. Orientation will be provided on site and education supported by the sector CME weekly as well as other educational opportunities as they arise.

About the team:
Gunnedah Maternity is a small tight knit rural maternity unit servicing the rural community of Gunnedah and surrounding district. Gunnedah has approximately 150 deliveries per year and cater to low risk women
37 weeks gestation. Our nearest referral hospital is Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital which is 74 kms (1 hour) away.

About you:
The successful candidate will be a flexible, easy going person with confidence to work autonomously as a sole practitioner. You will possess excellent communication skills, good assessment skills and have some post graduate experience.
