JOB DESCRIPTION

DH Steel is a growing Structural Steel company based in Melbourne's Western Suburbs, expanding to meet increasing customer demands. Our mission statement "Taking the time to do the job right" means that we have a strong commitment of preferring quality over quantity. We use the latest software and technology to design and install residential structural steel throughout Victoria.

We are seeking a motivated, mature, pro-active person who has experience with Tekla and Residential/Commercial Structural Steel to join a friendly team to deliver Shop Drawings and Marking Plans for fabrication and installation.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Join a small in-house detailing team.
  • Interpreting architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Use Tekla software to model structural elements.
  • Create beam connections and all fabrication drawings.
  • Create site plans / marking plans / installation layout drawings etc.
  • Take projects from Modelling, Detailing, Fabrication and Installation.
  • Communicate with the on-site team to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and as per plans.
  • Maintain DH Steel Quality Standards
  • General project administration tasks.
  • Implement and Support Continuous Improvement Principles.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

  • Motivated, pro-active person who can work unsupervised and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail, with a strong emphasis on accuracy and consistency.
  • Good communication skills and Balanced Judgement.
  • Knowledge and Experience with Tekla Structures required.
  • Ability to interpret Architectural, Engineering and Fabrication drawings.
  • Knowledge of residential/commercial building processes and techniques.
  • Knowledge of fabrication processes and techniques.
  • Strong willingness to learn and grow with company
  • Open mind to explore new ideas and concepts.

Flexible working hours and a negotiable salary package to be based on skills and experience. Please note that it is a requirement that the candidate must be either an Australian Citizen or eligible to work in Australia.
