About OS

Operations Services (OS) was established with the single goal of focusing on front line operators and maintainers. About the role

Reporting to the Manager Asset Systems and Governance, the Principal Compliance supports Operations Services by managing risk and governance processes and maintaining strong connection with our stakeholders. The role will require you to:

Provide assurance capability to ensure OS compliance with key internal processes, BHP group requirements, Host Operation Safety Health Management conditions and legal requirements.
Support effective management of risk across all aspects of Operations Services.
Undertake assurance activities utilising both formal and informal mechanisms.
Provide advice, support and coaching to frontline teams.
Collate information and conduct analysis to provide meaningful insights into performance against requirements and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with key stakeholders to maintain currency in understanding of internal and external requirements.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing actions to simplify OS risk and governance processes without compromising quality.
About you

We are looking for individuals that possess relevant risk, assurance and compliance skills, demonstrate excellence in stakeholder engagement, who are innovative with a bias to action, effectively lead via influence and have a strong ability to evaluate and manage change.

To be successful you will demonstrate the following:
High level of autonomy in complex decision making in a dynamic environment, to consistently meet multiple deadlines.
Strong attention to detail, in evaluation and presentation of information.
Interpersonal, influencing, consultation, presentation and communication skills.
Whilst no specific qualifications are required, a strong safety background with assurance, risk management and / or project management background are essential for the position.
Experience in the resources sector is desirable.
Proven ability to build, grow and manage relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
